1981 Delorean with gray leather interior, V6 engine and 5-speed
manual transmission.
The rear vents are made from thick aluminum and TIG welded.
The dimensions were sourced by measuring and photographing the original
screen used car at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
All of the metal fabrication is 100% accurate, including intentional
mistakes of holes, dents or other anomalies that all give the replica
character.
Genuine 10mm neon tubing powered by a 12,000 volt transformer on a 2000
Watt inverter powered by 4000 amps of DC power.
The props on the rear deck are comprised with high pressure hoses and
parts from vintage jet aircraft and other military equipment.
This part of the car is called the "Flux box". This is made of solid
polyurethane resin and bolted through the fender using large 1/4" bolts.
What makes this prop interesting is that it was created by making a
mold of the original screen used part that came from the car used in
the 3rd movie.
It is an exact replica of the original screen used part and has the
same oil finished cap screws, aluminum plates and 100 Amp plugs.
This replica of the "Flux Capacitor" is one of the finest you will ever
see.
It uses the same type of fiberglass electrical enclosure painted
the original color by using a paint chip acquired from the original
screen used prop as a color match.
The relays inside are vintage 1940's vacuum tube relays used in WWII
military radios.
The Cannon electrical elbow connectors are authenticated original.
There are $1500 worth of parts inside this particular prop alone.
Many of the parts on the Time Machine are sourced from military
aircraft.
These green tubes were originally used on Cobra helicopters.
The "Mr. Fusion" is a collaboration of replica castings of original
parts, custom sculpting and real world parts.
This prop is an exacting replica of the original.
The ceiling mounted switch array is an exact replica of the original.
Many of the buttons and switches perform functions or light as an
indicator when something else is activated.
Many details such as wire colors, placement and even position of ties
and clamps are all exactly as the original.
The "Spectrum Analyzer Cascade" on the right, behind the driver's seat
includes 200 LED's run by a computer
controller that make is display random positions that are like those
seen in the film, but when the "Time Event"
sequence is activated it follows a precise pattern and replicates what
was seen in the film.
The "Time Circuits" can be programmed with any time and dates you wish.
The center section or "Present Time" keeps real time.
When they are switched on they make the same sound effect as heard in
the film.
Input is easy, month, day, year, hour, minute and AM/PM and ENTER.
You can then set off a "Time Event" by pressing a secret button, the
speedometer will ramp up to "88"
and the times and dates will change on the Time Circuits, the needles
on the "Plutonium Gauges" will drop
and the "Spectrum Analyzer" will go full on..
When the speedo drops back to "0" and the system is switched off and
back on again,
the "Plutonium Gauges" will set of the "EMPTY" alarm with the same
sound effect from the film.
A reset is switched and the system returns to normal and is ready to
repeat.
2000 Watt inverter, 12,000 volt transformer, 1800 Watt fog machine, 2
of the 4 total batteries and charging system.
Hidden underneath the Time Circuits in the center console is high
powered Sony stereo system.
Simply reach up under them or raise them up to gain access.
There is a 4 speaker system that really rocks so you can jam out some
Huey Lewis and the News on your journey through time!!!
The digital speedometer on the dash is fully functional.
It is powered by a GPS satellite system and reads out your real,
accurate time.
It can be switched over to Kilometers or Miles for international use.
* Fog machine expelling water vapor fog using automatic timer
controller.

Only genuine neon can give the amount of cast light on the car and the
ground as seen in the film.
Substitutions using LED, EL wire or rope light can not mimick the
original look of the genuine neon.
This still from the behind the scenes video shows the car in Kevin
Pike's shop in 1985 before filming.
Notice the neon is a white cold cathode phosphorescent.
This color temperature appears blue on camera when shot with certain
filters.
Industrial Light and Magic added color and special effects to the car
in editing but as you can
see the original car had this white neon tubing, not blue as many other
replica builders have
previously thought.
This is the only replica in history to address details such as these.
